The 25-year age gap between Maris Racal and Rico Blanco is a big deal in the eyes of others, but it is not really an issue for the couple.

Maris, 23, is a Kapamilya singer-actress; while Rico, 48, is a well -known OPM singer, composer, record producer and actor.

Inevitably someone will say that they may not last long because of their large age gap.

But for the actress, I don’t know, it’s their own opinion naman.

“Maybe to their world ganun yung age gap or relationship.

“But we’re okay naman with negative comments, hindi kami naba-bother.”

Maris’ name trended on Twitter several times when her unexpected relationship with Rico became the talk of the town.

Until May 31, Maris admitted that her boyfriend was the “Your Universe” singer.

Many were happy because from Maris’ simple fan girl-ing moments, Rico became her boyfriend.

Laughing, Maris commented that she can’t say that she and Rico have proven anything in their relationship because of their love affair despite their age gap.

“Naku, napatunayan is big word kasi, test of time talaga siya. Years talaga ibe-based,” she said.

Added the Kapamilya star, “But I think, yung reaction ng people and yung support nila for us is very overwhelming. It’s something that I really did not expect.

“Kasi akala ko maraming magagalit, but baligtad yung nangyari.”

She also revealed that their romance are approved by her mom.

Of course, una talagang sinabihan ko, I mean, una sa listahan ko ang mommy ko.

“Kasi, medyo hindi typical yung relationship namin. Pinakauna ko talagang sinabihan si Mama and, surprisingly, naintindihan niya.”

Added her, Wala, inintindi niya lang din and, parang wala, hindi siya big conversation sa family.”
