PH bets on coconut, halal products to boost global export reach

The Philippines is looking to tap growing global demand for coconut-based and halal-certified products as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) puts these two sectors in the spotlight at the Philippine Exporters’ Trade Exposition and Forum 2026, the country’s largest gathering of local exporters.

Running from November 4 to 8 at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City, the five-day exposition highlights the export potential of the country’s coconut industry and halal products, alongside other homegrown goods showcasing Filipino quality, creativity, and innovation.

Organized by the DTI through its Export Marketing Bureau (EMB), in partnership with the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT), Coconut Philippines under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), and Halal Philippines, the event aims to connect Filipino businesses with international buyers, industry leaders, and potential business partners.

The coconut exhibit will feature a range of products, from traditional commodities to innovative, value-added offerings, underscoring opportunities to expand the industry’s presence in international markets. Meanwhile, the Halal Philippines showcase will present locally produced goods tailored to meet the increasing global demand for halal-certified products.

Beyond the product displays, the exposition will offer business-matching sessions, live product demonstrations, pitching opportunities, and expert-led forums designed to help exporters strengthen their competitiveness and explore new markets.

Participating businesses and aspiring exporters can also access the Export Enablers’ Clinic, where government agencies and industry partners will provide consultations on regulatory requirements, available services, and official support programs.

The exposition will be open to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the official opening ceremony scheduled for November 5.

Through the annual gathering, the DTI seeks to strengthen local enterprises by providing Filipino exporters with opportunities to build business networks, develop market linkages, and bring homegrown products to a wider international audience.
