Japan envoy bids farewell to DEPDev chief

Japanese Ambassador Endo Kazuya paid a farewell call on Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan on August 25, underscoring the continuing strength of economic cooperation between Japan and the Philippines.

During the meeting, Endo thanked Balisacan for his leadership and efforts in advancing economic relations between the two countries, noting the progress made in bilateral economic cooperation.

Balisacan, in turn, recognized Endo’s contributions to strengthening Japan-Philippines cooperation in economic development and expressed confidence that bilateral collaboration will continue to expand.

The two officials also reaffirmed their shared commitment to deeper economic cooperation and to promoting sustainable and inclusive growth that benefits both Filipino and Japanese communities.

Endo’s farewell call comes as Japan remains one of the Philippines’ key economic partners, with bilateral cooperation spanning infrastructure, development assistance, investment, trade and other areas of economic development.
