2GO, Cebu business sector seek stronger links for regional growth
2GO brought together Cebu’s business community, industry experts, and policymakers to explore how stronger connectivity and modern supply chain networks can support Central Visayas’ continued growth in trade, tourism, and investment.
In partnership with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and in coordination with the Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev) Region VII, 2GO convened key regional stakeholders for a strategic dialogue on Central Visayas’ economic outlook and the role of reliable logistics networks in connecting businesses to markets and travelers to destinations.
“We want to hear your pain points and identify your areas of growth so we can co-create solutions together,” said 2GO Marketing Business Unit Head Ethel Concepcion, highlighting the company’s commitment to sustained dialogue and collaboration with regional stakeholders.
CCCI President Regan Rex King emphasized that efficient connectivity is critical to strengthening the region’s competitiveness.
“When connectivity improves, businesses can move products faster and more efficiently. Tourism destinations become more accessible, supply chains build resilience, and new markets open,” King said. “A stronger Cebu requires stronger connections, and those links begin with meaningful cross-sector alignment.”
The forum underscored the shared interest of the private sector and government in developing a more interconnected regional economy. Through its multimodal logistics network, 2GO connects major trade routes across the Philippines while working with local organizations to help businesses access broader markets and regional opportunities.
DEPDev Region VII Assistant Regional Director Evelyn Nacario-Castro presented the region’s economic outlook, highlighting Central Visayas’ transition toward a more diversified and interconnected economy.
Central Visayas ranked as the Philippines’ fourth-largest regional economy in 2025 and is moving toward modernized transport and freight infrastructure, with 90 Strategic High-Impact Projects (SHIPs) scheduled for 2027.
The forum also featured an executive panel, “Strengthening Connectivity for Tourism, Trade, and Regional Growth,” with King and 2GO executives Francis John Chua (Travel), Faye Allonzo (Forwarding), and Sharon Musngi-Ngo (Sea Solutions).
The discussions highlighted the strategic role of logistics in supporting regional economic activity, particularly as businesses seek more efficient ways to move goods, reach new markets, and support tourism flows.
2GO said it will continue strengthening partnerships with businesses, government agencies, and industry organizations to develop more reliable connectivity and logistics solutions across Central Visayas.
