San Miguel Corporation (SMC) pumped ₱1.43 trillion back into the Philippine economy in 2025, distributing about 95% of its ₱1.5 trillion in revenues to suppliers, employees, investors, government, and communities, according to the company’s latest Sustainability Report.
The figures underscore SMC’s role as one of the country’s biggest economic drivers, with its spending supporting domestic supply chains, public revenues, employment, and continued capital investments across multiple industries.
The report showed that ₱995 billion went to suppliers and operating expenses, sustaining thousands of businesses throughout SMC’s nationwide value chain and supporting jobs in manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, retail, and related sectors.
Government revenues also benefited substantially, with SMC remitting ₱221 billion in taxes and other payments that help finance infrastructure projects, public services, and social programs.
The conglomerate also distributed ₱153 billion to providers of capital, including investors and shareholders, while ₱58 billion was allocated for employee salaries and benefits. Community development initiatives received ₱560 million in funding during the year.
SMC posted ₱79.6 billion in core net income in 2025, providing additional resources to finance expansion projects and future investments across its businesses.
“Our job is not just to provide quality food and beverage products, and access to everyday necessities such as power, fuel and infrastructure. Our bigger mission is to help sustain our economy and create the conditions needed to ensure more Filipinos have jobs and opportunities that can uplift and sustainably improve their lives,” said SMC Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang.
The report also highlighted the company’s expanding asset base, reflecting its long-term investment strategy.

On the sustainability front, SMC reported planting 8.14 million trees nationwide and conserving 58 billion liters of water since 2017 through desalination, recycling, reuse, conservation, and rainwater harvesting programs.
Through its Better Rivers PH initiative, launched in 2020, the company has also removed 8.95 million tons of silt and waste from major rivers and waterways.
Its social development programs reached more than 200,000 beneficiaries in 2025, supported by 4,298 employee volunteers who contributed over 65,000 volunteer hours across approximately 600 community activities.
SMC’s workforce expanded to 59,117 employees, with nearly 64% based outside Metro Manila, reflecting the company’s broad regional economic footprint.
The report further noted that all directors and officers completed corporate governance training, climate risk assessments were conducted across major operating assets, the company secured 282 internationally recognized certifications, recorded zero data breaches during the year, and screened nearly 200 suppliers based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
