Rubio to visit PH for ASEAN meetings, deepen US-PH partnership

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit Manila from July 19 to 23 to participate in key ASEAN-led meetings, including the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference, East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, and ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

During his visit, Rubio is also scheduled to meet with senior government officials from across the Indo-Pacific to discuss regional security, economic cooperation, and other shared priorities.

According to the U.S. State Department, the visit underscores Washington’s commitment to advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific that promotes security, stability, and prosperity for both the region and the United States.

Rubio will also highlight the outcomes of the U.S.-ASEAN partnership and seek to further strengthen the comprehensive partnership between the United States and the Philippines.
