PBBM secures Singtel AI, cloud, digital boost in PH
A telecommunications company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Philippines’ digital transformation and technology infrastructure expansion during a meeting with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who is in Singapore for a working visit from July 14 to 16.
According to a July 15 news release from Malacañang, the Singtel Group said its continued investments in telecommunications, digital services, and data centers are expected to create high-value jobs and strengthen the country’s digital economy.
During the meeting, Singtel Group Chief Executive Officer Yuen Kuan Moon, Globe Telecom President and CEO Carl Cruz, and Ayala Corporation Vice Chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala highlighted the group’s growing investments in the country, including the creation of NCS Philippines, a joint venture between Singtel’s technology services arm NCS and Globe’s Yondu.
The partnership expanded NCS’s Philippine workforce from 150 to 1,200 professionals, significantly enhancing its capabilities in digital, cloud, and artificial intelligence services.
The company also underscored the expansion of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) in the Philippines through its new STT Fairview facility in Quezon City and STT Cavite 2 development — projects that reinforce the country’s position as an emerging regional hub for digital infrastructure.
The additional investment will help improve the country’s digital infrastructure through NCS. The company also committed to expanding its investments and operations in the Philippines.
Singtel said its continued investments reflect Singapore’s sustained confidence in the Philippine economy while supporting digital transformation, high-value employment, and long-term technology infrastructure growth.
Company executives likewise reaffirmed their support for Globe Telecom as it continues investing in the network infrastructure needed to power the country’s expanding digital economy.
