Metrobank, Mastercard launch rewards-to-tree planting campaign

Metrobank has partnered with Mastercard to enable its credit cardholders to support environmental restoration by converting rewards points into tree-planting initiatives through Mastercard’s Priceless Planet Coalition.

Under the campaign, which runs from June 30 to December 30, 2026, Metrobank Mastercard credit cardholders can redeem every 8,000 rewards points to fund the planting of four trees using the Metrobank App or through SMS, allowing everyday spending to contribute to environmental conservation.

The initiative forms part of Mastercard’s Priceless Planet Coalition, a global platform that brings together consumers, financial institutions, businesses, and nonprofit organizations to support forest restoration and climate resilience.

The coalition works with global nonprofit organizations Conservation International and the World Resources Institute, which provide science-based guidance in identifying restoration sites, implementing projects, and monitoring their long-term environmental impact.

“This partnership lets everyday spending do something more meaningful. It’s our way of helping customers not just manage their finances, but also support causes that matter, making impact part of daily life,” said Gail Male, Head of Metrobank Credit Cards, Personal Loans and Digital Channels Group.

Mastercard said the collaboration demonstrates how financial services can encourage consumers to participate in sustainability efforts through their regular transactions.

Through the initiative, Metrobank continues to integrate sustainability into its financial services by giving customers a practical way to support environmental restoration while earning and redeeming rewards from their everyday purchases.

Eligible cardholders can participate by using their Metrobank Mastercard credit cards to accumulate rewards points and redeem them through the Metrobank App.
