Pokémon Champions Mobile Launches June 17, Bringing Cross-Platform Battles and Mega Raichu
As Pokémon approaches its milestone 30th year, fans will soon be able to battle anytime and anywhere with the mobile launch of Pokémon Champions on June 17, marking a major expansion of the franchise’s competitive gaming universe and introducing exclusive Mega Raichu evolutions for early players.
Originally released for the Nintendo Switch in April, Pokémon Champions is now making its way to mobile devices, allowing players to enjoy strategic Pokémon battles across both smartphone and console platforms. Pre-registration is currently available through the App Store and Google Play ahead of the game’s official launch.

The core game will be available free of charge, with optional in-game purchases offered for players seeking additional content. Pokémon Champions also features cross-platform play between Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, enabling users to access their saved data seamlessly across platforms through a single Nintendo Account.
Designed to deliver the strategic depth that longtime fans have come to expect from the Pokémon franchise, the game allows players to engage in complex battles while enjoying the flexibility of playing on their preferred device.

To celebrate the mobile release, a special in-game campaign will run from June 17 to September 2, 2026. During the promotional period, players can receive Raichu, along with the Raichunite X and Raichunite Y Mega Stones, through the game’s in-game mailbox. These items will allow players to Mega Evolve Raichu into two newly revealed forms: Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y.
Mega Raichu X

Mega Raichu X is an Electric-type Mouse Pokémon standing 1.2 meters tall and weighing 38 kilograms. Its signature Ability, Electric Surge, activates Electric Terrain for five turns upon entering battle, boosting the power of Electric-type moves used by grounded Pokémon by 30 percent while preventing them from falling asleep.
Mega Raichu Y

Mega Raichu Y is also an Electric-type Mouse Pokémon, standing 1.0 meter tall and weighing 26 kilograms. It possesses the Ability No Guard, which ensures that all moves used by and against the Pokémon have perfect accuracy, creating a unique battle dynamic focused on offensive pressure and precision.
With Pokémon nearing three decades of global success, the mobile launch of Pokémon Champions represents another step in expanding the franchise’s reach and bringing competitive Pokémon battles to a broader audience of players around the world.
