PH joins premier Asian trade exhibitions in Seoul and Hong Kong
The Department of Agriculture (DA) is stepping up its campaign to expand global market access for Philippine agricultural products through its participation in two of Asia’s largest trade exhibitions this year—Seoul Food 2026 in South Korea and Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong.
In a news release, the DA said it will showcase the country’s premium and high-value export crops at Seoul Food 2026, scheduled from June 9 to 12 at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Seoul, and at Asia Fruit Logistica from September 2 to 4 in Hong Kong. The twin trade missions form part of the DA’s broader strategy to strengthen the international presence of Philippine agricultural products and connect local producers with new buyers and markets.
At both events, the Philippine pavilion will feature 15 priority export commodities: banana, mango, durian, pineapple, cacao, avocado, pomelo, dragon fruit, rambutan, asparagus, okra, calamansi, dalandan, pili, and ube. The DA said these products represent some of the country’s most competitive agricultural exports and hold strong growth potential in overseas markets.
To help local agribusinesses maximize opportunities, the agency will organize business-to-business meetings, market scanning activities, and networking engagements with importers, distributors, retailers, and industry stakeholders. These initiatives are expected to generate new leads, strengthen trade partnerships, and open additional export channels for Philippine producers.
Leading the Philippine delegation is DA-Usec for High Value Export Crops and Agri-Fishery Export Development and Promotion, who will spearhead efforts to secure greater international recognition and premium market positioning for locally grown commodities.
Seoul Food 2026 is considered South Korea’s premier food trade exhibition and the fourth-largest in Asia. The event is expected to attract more than 1,600 exhibitors and over 45,000 trade visitors from around the world, providing a major platform for showcasing fresh produce, processed food products, alternative proteins, and halal-certified innovations.
The DA will build on that momentum through its participation in Asia Fruit Logistica, one of the region’s most influential trade fairs for the fresh produce industry. Expected to draw more than 760 exhibitors and 14,000 professional buyers, the event serves as a key meeting point for growers, exporters, retailers, logistics providers, and packaging specialists from across Asia and beyond.
The agency’s return to Asia Fruit Logistica after several years signals a renewed push to promote Philippine agricultural exports in key international markets. Through these trade exhibitions, the DA aims to boost export earnings, diversify market destinations, and create long-term opportunities for Filipino farmers, producers, and agribusiness enterprises, helping build a more resilient and export-driven agricultural sector.
