One Meralco Foundation backs Brigada Eskwela 2026
The Manuel V. Pangilinan-led One Meralco Foundation (OMF), the corporate social responsibility arm of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), joined the Department of Education’s (DepEd) annual Brigada Eskwela 2026 initiative from June 1 to 5, helping public schools prepare for the opening of classes nationwide.

In the photo are OMF and Meralco employee-volunteers from the Pasig Sector and Business Center during the turnover of LED lighting fixtures, cleaning supplies, and painting materials to personnel of Bagong Ilog Elementary School in Pasig City. To help create a safer and more energy-efficient learning environment, the volunteers also conducted electrical safety inspections and assisted in repainting school chairs and facilities.

Beyond Pasig City, OMF carried out similar Brigada Eskwela activities in public schools across Marikina City, Las Piñas City, Sampaloc and Tondo in Manila, Dasmariñas City, Tagaytay City, Indang, and Mendez in Cavite, Biñan City in Laguna, and Talisay in Batangas.
The initiative underscores OMF’s continuing commitment to supporting education communities and helping ensure that students and teachers return to safe, secure, and learning-ready classrooms for the new academic year.
