Meralco expands Cavite power investments with new substation

The Manila Electric Company is ramping up investments in its power distribution network with the energization of the new Osorio (Conchu) Substation in Cavite, a project designed to increase system capacity, improve reliability, and support the province’s growing residential, commercial, and industrial demand for electricity.

The new facility features an 83-megavolt-ampere (MVA) power transformer bank, three 115-kilovolt gas circuit breakers, six disconnect switches, 115-kV sub-transmission lines, and a control house equipped with a 34.5-kV indoor modular switchgear.

The additional capacity will strengthen power reliability in Trece Martires and General Trias, benefiting residential communities as well as key institutions including Trece Martires City Hall, City of General Trias Doctors Medical Center Inc., Lyceum of the Philippines University, and Eagle Ridge Golf and Residential Estates.

The project forms part of Meralco’s continuing capital investments to modernize its distribution network, strengthen grid resilience, and support economic growth across its franchise area.
