Smart assembles tech titans for AI push

Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is accelerating its AI transformation through major partnerships forged at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. The company signed MOUs with GSMA, Amdocs and Huawei to enhance customer experiences, optimize operations, and modernize its network. Smart is also collaborating with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to strengthen its AI and data capabilities through advanced machine learning and predictive analytics.

“These partnerships with tech giants will supercharge our AI-powered transformation,” said Anastacio “Boy” Martirez, Smart COO. “By collaborating with the best in the industry, we can deliver smarter, faster, and more customer-centric services, while future-proofing our network for tomorrow’s demands.”

Under the GSMA Open Gateway Initiative, Smart will open its network to third-party developers via standardized APIs, enabling frictionless authentication and advanced digital services. This move is expected to eliminate the need for one-time passwords (OTPs), offering stronger security and smoother logins through next-gen APIs.

The Amdocs partnership focuses on AI-driven personalization through its GenZ Project, creating real-time, tailored experiences for younger, tech-savvy consumers. This includes smarter offers and seamless omnichannel interactions to boost customer loyalty.

Smart’s partnership with Huawei centers on core network modernization, leveraging cloud-native technologies and AI automation. This will improve scalability, speed up service deployments, and enhance network reliability, preparing Smart’s network for 5G SA and future digital services.

Separately, Smart’s collaboration with AWS will unify its data platform, enabling it to process massive data volumes more efficiently. Through AWS’s AI and machine learning (ML) solutions, Smart will gain deeper customer insights and deliver faster, predictive services, strengthening its position as a tech-driven telco.

Through these strategic alliances, Smart is cementing its role as a leader in AI-powered telecom, enhancing its network infrastructure, customer experiences, and service innovation for the digital future. [END]
