4,000 Grab and Move It drivers and their families get free health consultations

About 4,000 riders, drivers, and delivery partners from Grab and Move It, along with their families, received free health consultations during the Health & Wheelness Driver Care Event 2024. The event, hosted by Grab Philippines and motorcycle taxi company Move It, aimed to provide a more holistic approach to health and wellness for their hardworking partners.

Participants availed themselves of various medical services, including general check-ups, dental care, and eye exams, with vitamins, supplements, and medications provided by Generika Pharmacy. Through partnerships with government agencies like Pag-IBIG and PhilHealth, Grab and Move It ensured their partners had easy access to essential social protection services by streamlining membership application processes and distributing health IDs on-site.

In a significant gesture, 700 pre-registered participants were given free customized dentures to improve their dental health.

CJ Lacsican, Head of Cities and Business Operations at Grab Philippines, highlighted the importance of health care for drivers and riders:

(“It is true that nothing beats the hard work and strategy of the Grab driver- and delivery-partners and Move It rider-partners. In their busyness, they sometimes forget to pay attention to their health. This is the reason why we continue to carry out various initiatives so that they too can take good care of, not only their work, but also their own health.”)

The event also featured free self-care services such as haircuts, massages, and nail cleaning sessions, giving participants a chance to unwind and recharge. Additionally, Grab and Move It organized an online wellness seminar with speakers from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), Department of Agriculture, and Shell Philippines, ensuring wider access to health education for partners who could not attend the in-person event.

Beyond physical wellness, Grab and Move It remain committed to the overall well-being of their driver communities through technological solutions like the “Fatigue Nudge,” a feature that encourages drivers who have been online for over 10 hours to take a break. Platforms like GrabAcademy and Ka-Move It Academy also provide drivers with easy access to courses on health, wellness, and financial literacy.

The Health & Wheelness Driver Care Event is part of Grab and Move It’s ongoing efforts to support the well-being of their partners while encouraging a healthier lifestyle both on and off the road.
