South Korea launches e-Group Visa for tourists
Bares accredited travel agencies to lodge visa application
From June 27, 2023, the Ministry of Justice in Korea will start accepting tourist visa applications under e-Group Visa.
The e-Group Visa may be applied through accredited travel agencies for group of at least 3 members from company incentive tour group, educational tour group of below collegiate level, and regular tour group, who plan to enter and exit with the same vessel, flight, or other same scheduled means of transportation.
Speaking to THEPHILBIZNEWS, a Korean embassy official who asked not to be named for lack of authority to speak on the matter said, “This is good for those who wish to travel to Korea as a group as they don’t need to hassle with the Embassy visa process. But that’s just my personal interpretation, so please ask questions to the visa section through the KCC Director! Hopes the new KCC Director will do his part.”
When asked if this would only favor those who can afford to pay the travel fee, the embassy official said, “People have one more option to consider… It is not that the current individual-based application be stopped.”
Traveling tourists to South Korea can apply online through the designated travel agencies through the Korea Visa Portal application. The travel agencies will take care of the application procedure and requirements, but proper inquiry and preparation of the required documents for visa application must be ready.
