Umani Ng Papuri Ang Aetang Ito Matapos Makapasa Sa Licensure Examinaion For Teachers Makalipas Ang 25 Na Taon!

People who were born with a silver spoon look forward to their future because they know for sure that they will inherit their family’s wealth. However, that’s not the case for those who live from paycheck to paycheck.

For the people who weren’t born with a silver spoon, education and knowledge is the only thing that they can pass on to the next generation. Their knowledge is the most precious thing that they can offer to their children.

That is exactly what this teacher from Tarlac has proven.

Gennie Victoria Panguelo, an Aeta from the city of Tarlac has become an inspiration to a lot of people are she passed the Licensure Examinations for Teachers, 25 years after she got her degree.

Aside from pursuing her dream of becoming a Licensed teacher, Gennie Victoria Panguelo has also been teaching at Tarukan Elementary School since year 2002. For two decades now, she’s been struggling with her commute to work that includes walking through lahar and hiking up a mountain.

While most people are complaining about consuming an hour to commute to work, Gennie Victoria Panguelo spends three to four hours just so she could see the aetas and teach them.

She did not only serve as an inspiration to everyone because of what she does for the Aetas but also because she never shown any signs of giving up.

According to the reports, it was in 1987 when she finished her studies and finally, after 35 years, she passed the Licensure Examination for teachers and with her nearly complete PhD, Panguelo can now work at any school near her home.

However, despite being qualified to work on schools that are much nearer in her home, she still chose to help the other Aetas and said, “Sila ‘yung mga taong pinili ko at doon ako nakahandang maglingkod.”

Going back to her journey in taking the licensure examination for teachers, it was back in 1990 when Gennie Victoria Panguelo started taking the LET. She did not pass the exam the first time she took it but she didn’t give up.

It was already in the year 2010 and the government has already modified a stricter policy on taking the LET which made it even more difficult for Panguelo.

All throughout her journey, she has been told that she’s already too old for it and that she should just give up. People even said that she should stop taking the exam because she already has gray hair.

However, she didn’t give up. Despite all the discrimination she has received from people, she still chose to take the exam and by the year 2016, she finally reached her dreams!

She was jumping for joy when she finally passed the LET and even left a message to everyone to never stop giving up on their dreams.

“Sa mga kabataan na tulad kong naghangad na maging titulado, huwag po kayong manghinayang,” ang payo ng guro.

“Kapag bumagsak, bumangon ulit. Kasi hindi lang nakukuha sa isang pagkakataon, kailangan natin ng tunay sa loob, sinseridad, at pagtitiyaga,” She said.
