Ama Ni Carla Abellana, may ibinunyag tungkol kay Tom Rodriguez!

For the first time ever, Rey PJ Abellana spoke up about the marital issues between his daughter Carla Abellana and her husband Tom Rodriguez.

It was back in October 23, 2021 when Carla Abellana tied the knot with Tom Rodriguez after being a couple for seven years.

However, people were left in complete shock because after three months of being married, rumors sparked on January 2022 that they have already separated.

In a live interview with Cristy Fermin, Rey PJ Abellana revealed the details of the marital issues being faced by his daughter and her husband.

Rey admitted that he was shocked as well when he learned about their separation. He said that he immediately contacted his daugther. However, Carla did not send a reply right away.

“Nay, siyempre, ako mismo bilang partikular na isa akong magulang, siyempre malaking gulat sa akin yun.

“Agad, medyo minessage ko ang anak ko na si Carla, na pilit kong alamin kaagad kung bakit.

“Sabi ko, ‘Ito nakarating na sa akin, may lumalabas na issues, at tungkol sa ganito, ganun sa inyong dalawang mag-asawa, e, gusto kong alamin,’ sabi ko. ‘Kung ito, ano ba ito, isyu lang ba ito ng showbiz o wala?’

“So honestly, Nay, ito sasabihin ko, sumpa man sa Diyos, totoo ito, nung una kong minessage yung anak ko ay hindi po kaagad nag-reply sa akin.

“So, alam niyo, dun pa lang sa sitwasyon na yun na hindi kaagad nakapag-reply yung anak ko sa akin, si Carla, e, pumasok na kaagad sa isipan, na, ‘Oy, may laman yung isyu na ito tungkol sa kanila.’

“So, pumasok na sa feeling ko sa isip ko na maaaring totoo itong issue na ito.”

Rey also added that he didn’t know much about the relationship of his daugther with Tom. He refused to speak up about the issue before because he really had no idea why they parted ways.

However, after a few days Carla replied to him only to say that they aren’t okay.

“Ganunpaman, e, hindi pa rin ako nagsalita or whatever else, kasi honestly, talagang wala pa rin akong alam.

“So ngayon, after a few days, nag-reply na po si Carla sa akin.

“At ang sabi niya sa akin, ganito lang po ang pagkasabi ng anak ko sa akin, a, ‘Tom and I now are not okay.

“‘So, anyway, Papa, we would like people to respect, give us the respect na i-settle muna namin itong personal na bagay, with ourselves. Pakiusap, Papa, na as much as possible, huwag na lang muna tayong magsalita sa press dahil baka mag-iba-iba pa ang isyu, magsanga-sanga.’

“So, anyway, nakiusap po yung anak ko na, ‘Hold on muna, stay put, at let us be the ones to settle it personally.’

“Considering na personal problem din naman nilang mag-asawa iyan, so that’s what I did.”

Rey continued and said that a lot of people from press has been trying to reach out to him to find out what happened.

“So, maraming press po ang kumokontak sa akin, mga kaibigan nating reporters, inaalam at tinatanong sa akin, just like kayo po, tinatanong niyo sa akin kung ano ba talaga ang sitwasyon.

“So, Nay, honestly, to this point, up to this point, hindi pa rin po malinaw sa akin ang mga bagay-bagay sa pangyayari sa kanila dahil po hindi ko pa rin po nakakausap si Carla.”

Rey then clarified that Carla and Tom are having marital issues but that doesn’t confirm that they have already decided to part ways.

“Pero, Nay, hindi ko pa sinasabi na hiwalay na yung anak ko, sa kanilang mag-asawa, hindi ko pa po sinasabi na hiwalay yung dalawa.

“Ang point ko dito po, ang sinasabi ko lang po na kung anuman ang problema ng mag-asawa ay sini-settle lang nila muna na sila lang para naman po maayos ito.

“Dahil hindi naman po sila lulugar sa pagpapakasal para maghiwalay.”

In addition to that, the veteran actor revealed that after all the issues, Tom Rodriguez reached out to him to explain his side. However, Rey refused to reveal what they talked about because he hasn’t gotten in touch with his daughter and his daughter hasn’t provided him her “side” of the story.

Cirsty Fermin didn’t let the change slip away and so while she still have Rey on the line, he asked away about the rumors that Tom had a one night stand.

Rey revealed that Tom did have a one night stand. They are unable to consider it a third party since it’s a one night stand.

“Nay, honestly speaking, hindi po natin maku-consider na third party, e, ang sitwasyon.

“Kasi po, ang pangyayari ay one-night stand, e. So, hindi natin kinu-consider yun na third party.”

Rey then continued and said that as a man, he understands Tom since it has already happened to him before.

“Opo, opo, kaya naintindihan ko po ‘yan.

“E, nangyari sa tukso ay hindi po mortal sin. Para sa akin, you know, bilang isang tao, natural na tao lang po ang nangyayari sa mga ganyang bagay, natural sa buhay ‘yan, e, di po ba?”

Before the interview ended, Cristy Fermin also asked about Tom Rodriguez’s secuality. There had been rumors that Tom is gay. However, Rey refused to beieve it and said, “I don’t think so, hindi ko po nakikita ‘yan at hindi ko pinaniniwalaan ‘yan.

“Ako, bilang lalaki, kasi hindi ko masyadong abot, e, totoong lalaki ako kung magpapakasal ako sa isang babae, yun po ang realistic dun.

“So, paano mo papakitaan ng kabaklaan yung sitwasyon na yun kung ako ay isang straight?

“Kaya hindi ko nakikita ‘yan, hindi ko nai-imagine ‘yan, at hindi ko pinaniniwalaan ‘yan para kay Tom.

“Sa tingin ko po, opinion ko po ng personal ‘yan.”
