The campaign period for the 2022 National elections has finally started. Presidentiable candidates are already choosing wisely on when and where their proclamation rallies will be.

On February 8, the UniTeam of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Inday Sara Duterte held their proclamation rally in the Philippine Arena.

Due to the pandemic, the UniTeam is only allowed to have a total of 25,000 people who should have their tickets and their negative antigen tests.

The proclamation rally of Bongbong Marcos and Inday Sara Duterte should be focused on their candidates and the introduction of their senatorial candidates. However, it appears that a celebrity took the spotlight from them.

On that same proclamation rally, instead of talking about the candidates, the netizens talked about how Toni Gonzaga hosted the rally given the fact that the most of the candidates in the UniTeam are the reason why the franchise of ABS-CBN was never renewed.

Among the celebrities who were part of the UniTeam’s proclamation rally were Karla Estrada, Randy Santiago, Toni Gonzaga-Soriano and a lot more.

This is the second time that Toni Gonzaga was seen supporting Bongbong Marcos. She first endorsed him when he run for the Vice Presidential position and now, as a presidential candidate.

Tono Gonzaga grew close to the Marcoses especially with Paul Soriano being the nephew of Marcos’ wife.

Ever since Toni Gonzaga became vocal on who she will be supporting for the National elections, she slowly lost supporters and end up gaining bashers. It even came to a point when Toni Gonzaga made her own rendition of the song “Ako Ay Pilipino” but the netizens took notice of the fact that she’s the Filipino who will bring another Filipino down because of her choices.

In addition to that, she was also under fire for the intreview she had with Marcos. However, to her defence, she stated that no matter how cancelled a person is on social media, she wants to become the way for him to be able to speak up.

It appears that Toni Gonzaga’s participation in the BBM-SARA proclamation rally caused her a lot that she ended up formally resigning from being the official host of Pinoy Big Brother.

On 02/09, Toni Gonzaga officially ended her Pinoy Big Brother stint as she filed her resignation following the controversies linking her endorsement for the politicians who agreed for the close down of ABS-CBN.

On Instagram, the actress posted her official statement that reads, “It has been my greatest honor to host PBB for 16 years.”

“From witnessing all my co-hosts transition from housemates to PBB hosts are just some of the best moments in my life sa bahay ni Kuya,

“Today, I am stepping down as your main host. I know Bianca and the rest of the hosts will continue the PBB legacy. It has been my privilege to greet you all with ‘hello Philippines’ and ‘hello world’ for the last 16 years.

“I will forever cherish the memories, big nights and moments in my heart. Thank you Kuya for everything. This is your angel, now signing off,” Toni said.
