Sarah Geronimo’s painful but very beautiful version of the OPM Christmas song “Sana Ngayong Pasko” is one of the reasons why you should watch the repeat streaming of Christmas With The G’s, her online Christmas concert with Matteo Guidicelli, on Vivamax on December 24, 2021.

As Sarah sang the emotional song that Ariel Rivera made famous in 1993, it can be noticed that she seemed to control herself well so that she wouldn’t cry.

But in the stanza, “Sana ngayong Pasko ay maalala mo pa rin ako / Hinahanap-hanap pag-ibig mo / At kahit wala ka na, nangangarap at umaasa pa rin ako / Muling makita ka at makasama ka / Sa araw ng Pasko,”

The singer-actress never uttered the word “Christmas.”

After Sarah sang her very sentimental and painful version of “Sana Ngayong Pasko,” Matteo hugged her so Popstar Royalty was able to speak “Baka paiyakin mo.”

When Sarah sat on the sofa to listen to Matteo sing “Pasko Na Sinta Ko,” the camera caught her wiping away tears.

The message of “Sana Ngayong Pasko” is about a loved one who has moved away who wants to be with his or her loved one again on Christmas day.

Before the couple sang the sentimental OPM Christmas songs, the topic of their conversation was about a family that will be separated from each other, so the fans of Christmas with The G’s can feel what Sarah is going through.

“Love, Christmas is the happiest time of the year but, unfortunately, may iba po sa atin ay hindi magiging masaya ang pagse-celebrate ng Pasko.

“Marami sa mga kapwa natin ang nawalan ng mahal sa buhay, trabaho, ng pag-asa, ng inspirasyon, and there are also people who are away from their families this holiday season.”

Mateo answered, “Babe, that’s very very true,”

Added the actor, “This is hard times, but at the end of the day, we would like to encourage each and everyone of you and us, baby, that through thick and thin, through all these challenges we go through, I think God has a bigger plan for all of us.

“You know, you’re a living proof of that. You show me how strong you are.

“You inspire me every day to whatever you go through, at the end of the day, you stand even taller than everybody else so maraming salamat for the inspiration.

“I guess, at the end of the day, this Christmas is a good reminder na we have to be thankful, stand up and be happy again and put joys in our heart and say thank you and be happy again.”
