Barbie Imperial was present during the birthday celebration of Sam Cruz, her boyfriend Diego Loyzaga’s half-sister.

Sam’s mother, actress Sunshine Cruz, disclosed this when she shared images from her daughter’s birthday party on Instagram on August 25.

“Thank you guys for always being there for Sam. Sam is really blessed to have you all in her life,” Sunshine wrote in the caption.

Sam celebrated her 17th birthday on Tuesday, August 24.

In her birthday message for her daughter, Sunshine said: “17!! I love this bubbly, funny, sweet and sometimes pilya daughter of mine so much! Mom’s always here for you and I am very proud of you. Happy 17th Birthday my beautiful.”

Sunshine has three daughters with her ex-husband, action actor Cesar Montano, including Sam, a Star Magic performer. Angelina, a recording artist, is 19 years old, and Chesca, 15, is 15 years old.

Meanwhile, Cesar is the father of actress Teresa Loyzaga’s kid, Diego.

Diego and Barbie’s romance was initially established in January.

When Diego commented on Barbie’s swimsuit shot on Instagram in November 2020, it prompted suspicions of a romance.

During a guest appearance on sa Magandang Buhay the next month, Barbie confirmed that Diego was courting her.

In an interview, the actor stated that he and his girlfriend, Imperial, both tested positive for COVID-19.

Imperial was the first to contract the virus, and Loyzaga contracted it while caring for her during her illness.

“I was there with her. Pareho po kaming nagkaroon.

“Hindi namin alam nung time na ‘yun. She was with me and I was taking care of her. Nag pa-test s’ya, RT-PCR, and it came out positive. So [I said] ‘I might as well take a test din,’” Loyzaga said.

According to the actor, he was asymptomatic and felt better in just 2 weeks.

“I think lang mas naging malakas ‘yung resistence ko sa kanya, kase it didn’t last long with me. I didn’t feel anything I was aymptomatic. Wala po akong naramdaman and wala pang 2 weeks, ilang days lang po sa akin, I tested negative already,” he said.

His girlfriend, he stated, recovered from the infection as well.

“She was okay. She got better. She’s strong.”
