GOEZ COUPLE TO SWAP POSITIONS THIS 2022
Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez said on Wednesday that his wife, Leyte Rep. Lucy Marie Torres-Gomez (4th district), will run for mayor next year after serving as a congressman for more than a decade.
The actor-turned-mayor has stated that he will try to exchange posts with his wife, who is now serving her third and last term in the House of Representatives.
During the launch of the Ormoc City Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) vaccination plan and development, he made the announcement.
After their bets won in the 2019 midterm elections, the Torres-Gomez clan and its political allies ruled Leyte’s 4th District, ending the Codilla family’s decades-long rule.
