Ai-ai delas Alas and husband Gerald Sibayan reveal that they are going to be parents anytime soon.

At age of 56, Ai-ai said that they decided to get pregnant through IVF.

“May embryo na kami,” said Ai Ai on “Tunay Na Buhay,” relating to the in vitro fertilization (IVF) they started in 2017.

They also revealed that they are going to welcome their little bundle of joy this year.

“Panalangin, dasal. Nagno-novena kami always, sabay kaming nagno-novena,” said the Comedy Queen.

Last January 2020, the actress revealed that she’s still hoping to get pregnant, the main reason why she is trying to stay fit.

But Gerald opposes the idea for a reasonable matter. According to him, it will be totally unsafe for the comedienne to conceive a child with her age.

“We had an argument recently. He said he didn’t want to bring the issue up with me before because he knew I would just get mad. He said he didn’t want me to get pregnant for health reasons,” Ai-Ai shared with Inquirer Entertainment.

“I eat only organic food and cannot take just any kind of medicine when I’m sick. Only recently, I took antibiotics to battle an infection and, as a side effect, I couldn’t move my lips,” Ai-Ai recalled. “Gerald is worried about what could happen to the baby if I get sick while conceiving. He is also concerned about the effect of the medicine to me, in case I need to take some for the baby.”

When asked about her idea surrogate mother, Ai-ai has no other requirements other than these: “She has to be Filipino and has to have the same blood type as mine,”
