PH debuts first Halal Pavilion at Brunei trade expo
The Philippines launched its first-ever Halal Philippines Pavilion at the 33rd Consumer Fair and Trade Expo (CF33) in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, marking a major step in promoting the country’s halal-ready exports.
The pavilion is a joint initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Kuala Lumpur and Export Marketing Bureau (EMB), the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Office of the Agriculture Attaché of the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, and the Philippine Embassy in Brunei.
Officially inaugurated by Brunei Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, the pavilion also welcomed Philippine Ambassador Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio, Commercial Counsellor Norjamin Delos Reyes, and Agriculture Attaché Annalyn Lopez-Jamora.
The showcase features halal-ready, export-quality Philippine food, agribusiness, wellness, and lifestyle products, including artisan chocolates, coconut-based products, wellness supplements, tropical fruits, specialty coffee, cacao, and other value-added food items.
With more than 100,000 visitors expected over five days, CF33 is one of Brunei’s largest consumer and trade exhibitions, providing Philippine exporters with opportunities to increase brand visibility, meet buyers, and forge long-term business partnerships.
The country’s inaugural national halal pavilion underscores the Philippines’ push to expand market access for local enterprises while strengthening trade and economic ties with Brunei Darussalam and the wider Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA).
