Bela Padilla May Ibinunyag Patungkol Kay Liza Soberano

Bela Padilla has recently revealed that the female lead role of her movie entitled ‘366’ was supposed to be Liza Soberano and not her.

The Kapamilya actress stated that she wasn’t the first choice but Liza Soberano.

“The film, 366, wasn’t meant for me. I didn’t want to act in it because I was told I was going to direct it, so I wanted another actress to be in it,” she said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Bela Padilla also shared that it even came to a point when she was already asking for Liza Soberano’s schedule since she really required Liza Soberano for the film.

“I required Liza Soberano for this. I even came to a point where I asked for her schedule already. She was doing a TV show at that time. I think it was Make It With You,” she shared.

However, when pandemic happened changes also happened with regards on the plans for the movie.

Bela Padilla revealed that not all actors wanted to work given the pandemic and so she didn’t push for the original plan for the movie.

“When the pandemic started, a lot of actors didn’t want to work. Mahirap naman na biglang sasabak sa bubble, sa shooting life. Hindi ko pinilit ang original vision ko for this film,” she shared.

Knowing that Liza Soberano won’t be able to push through with the role, Bela Padilla decided to step in. She became both the director and the female lead actress for the movie 366.

Bela further stated that due to the changes with the casting, there were also changes and differences for how the female character was interpreted.

She also continued and said that she still hopes to work with Liza Soberano in the future.

“I wouldn’t say better, but it’s definitely different. I am older than Liza. I guess my interpretation of grief and love are different. Liza and I are in different stages in our lives. I gave a different interpretation and performance than she would have given. I still love to work with her, though. Maybe one day, that will still happen,” she stated.
