Kris Aquino entered the urn containing the ashes of his brother, former Philippine President Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino, who died on June 24, 2021 at the age of 61 due to renal disease at 1:43 p.m. a diabetes-related illness.

Ballsy, Pinky, and Viel hugged PNoy’s urn one by one before Kris inserted it into the tomb, and this poignant sight brought tears to the eyes of those watching PTV-4’s live coverage.

The burial rituals and military honors bestowed on the former president, who was laid to rest yesterday afternoon adjacent to his tomb in Manila Memorial Park, Paraaque City, by his parents, former President Cory Aquino and former Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr.

Kris, one of PNoy’s orphaned siblings, sobbed the most as she watched the monument for their only brother be placed on his grave.

Kris cried silently, notwithstanding a female reporter’s claim that the television host-actress was crying.

Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection saluted PNoy three times with water.

First, following the holy liturgy at the Church of the Gesù, the funeral procession left Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City.

Second, as the burial procession approaches Manila Memorial Park, and third, as priests conduct the final blessing on the ashes of the country’s former ruler.

Aquino was the first former Philippine president to cremate a body in the country’s history.

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, health and safety precautions such as facemasks, face shields, and physical separation were tightly enforced on PNoy’s ashes, which were not followed as people waited for the funeral caravan from the Ateneo de Manila University to Manila Memorial Park.
