For almost 7 decades, Peggy Harris waited for her husband Billie, from the very day he kissed her on the cheeks, waving goodbye before stepping out of the door to face another mission in the Air Force.

It was World War II, and Billie promised to come back as soon as possible.

But unfortunately, he did not.

“In order to find out what ever happened to her husband, Peggy needed to be prepared to roll up her sleeves and dig deep. For years, Peggy contacted all sorts of people and gathered what little information she managed to put together and tried to connect the dots, but there was no use. Billie was gone, and so was any shred of evidence that could hint where he might be. Still, being the strong minded woman she was, Peggy was not going to give up.” ninjajournalist wrote.

Eve the whole neighborhood have been aware with Peggy’s faithful waiting, but it was time that the poor woman finally attain the peace and truth she has always deserved.

Why did the love of her life did not come back, just like he promised?

It turns out that Billie D. Harris’ fighter plane was shot down while he was flying above Les Ventes.

But despite his condition, the man was still able to maintain control of his aircraft long enough to avoid crashing into the village.

Unfortunately, he did not make it out alive.

Still, even after Peggy found out the real situation, the devoted lady will always remain Billie’s beloved wife.

“Billie was married to me all of his life, and I choose to be married to him all of my life.” Peggy said.
